Winter Time in Charlottesville Wine Country

The weather has turned chilly and the wineries have the fireplaces burning! I am surprised at how many people don’t realize the wineries are open year round!

We are quieter during the week this month and have used this time to update the inn! The Arcand has a coat of fresh paint, and now also the dining room!

Starting on January 28 we’ll have Restaurant Week here in Charlottesville which is another great way to while away the chilly weather…although we will have warmer temps this week. Check out what’s offered!!

  1. Hi there,

We grow Chambourcin, which is a dark grape that grows in large clusters. We make it into dessert wine to use at our B&B for turndown in the evening wtih local artisan chocolates. Last time we made a port-style fortified wine, this year we are making an Amarone which is an Italian unfortified style dessert wine. We harvest about two barrels (25 cases) from our small vineyard.
