A new year always bring new possibilities! No need to let Old Man Winter get you down. The only thing down in Charlottesville are the crowds which make winter an ideal time to visit your favorite wineries, breweries, cideries and distilleries or try out some new ones. The Presidential homes of Monticello, Montpelier and Ashlawn/Highland are open. In addition to all of this, here is a rundown of some special events happening during the month of January:

  • January 19th – 26th – Charlottesville Restaurant Week – Over 30 fabulous area restaurants offering a 3 course meal for either $29 or $39. Benefits the Blue Ridge Area food Bank
  • January 21st – All National Parks in Virginia will waive their entrance fees on Martin Luther King, Jr. day. Shenandoah National Park with it’s Skyline Drive provide spectacular hikes and vistas and is just a short drive from Charlottesville
  • January 26th – Know Good Beer and Music Festival – local beer, cider and spirits along with food trucks, craft vendors and music. Get your tickets early! IX Park in Charlottesville, near the downtown mall
