Arcady Vineyard Bed and Breakfast Guest Rooms

The lodging accommodations at our B&B in Charlottesville, VA are designed to make vacation planning easy, with amenities for which others charge extra. Spacious and designed with your comfort in mind, all rooms sleep two and feature Smart TVs, Bose CD/radio/alarm clock, private en-suite bath with heated tiled flooring, heated towel rack and a cultured marble shower.

Please note: room rates are subject to INCREASE at peak times/holidays and with demand. Discounted winter rates are in effect December 1 – mid March while high season rates apply mid-March – November 30. We are CLOSED to check ins/stay overs on Sunday and Monday during high season. We currently have a two-night minimum stay requirement which in rare cases may be waived – please call to inquire.

For extended stays, we recommend the Madison Suite, Lafayette or the Mazzei as they have full size sofas and the most floor space.

Madison Suite

Rates: $265 - $340

The Madison Suite is named after American President James Madison, a frequent visitor and collaborator of Thomas Jefferson’s while at nearby Monticello. Decorated in a soothing blue and gray, this is our largest and most grand room.

Newly built in 2017, this 750-square-foot suite is accessible via a private staircase off our first-floor west wing hallway. It sits just below our Mazzei and Baron’s Rooms under an added layer of soundproofing.

Relax in front of the corner gas fireplace or outdoors on a private, ground-level deck overlooking our vineyard. This suite features smart TVs in both the king bed sleeping area above the fireplace (operational late fall – early spring), and in the opposite corner facing the sofa in the expansive sitting room. There are 3 large picture windows for a full panoramic view of the vineyard and grounds.

The oversize bathroom features a walk-in cultured marble shower with built-in seat. A Bose CD/radio sound system and sleeping area ceiling fan complete this spacious and secluded suite.

Mazzei Room

Rates: $215 - $290

The Mazzei Room is named after famous Italian physician Philip Mazzei, who helped Thomas Jefferson plant the first commercial vineyard in America just about a mile from Arcady Vineyard in the general location of what is now Jefferson Vineyards.

Located at the end of the west wing of the building, the Mazzei is decorated in a Tuscan style with burgundy and gold earth tones and Italian art. This roomy and open layout includes a king bed, whirlpool tub for two, full-size sofa, and French doors opening to a large furnished deck, shared with the Baron’s Room and overlooking the vineyard.

Entering the room, a private bath with cultured marble shower is to the right and further in is a whirlpool tub for two. To the left is the sofa, and straight ahead is the king bed and chest of drawers. Continue past the bed to French doors opening to the deck which overlooks our vineyard of Chambourcin grapes.

Sunday through Thursday – $215 – $265 per night plus room tax.

Friday and Saturday – $230 – $290 per night plus room tax.

Baron’s Room

Rates: $185 - $260

Baron von Geismar, fighting with the British against the colonists during the Revolution, met Jefferson after being taken captive. The Baron’s Room remembers this interesting man who became Jefferson’s close friend.

Decorated in a German/Austrian Baroque style in soothing grey blue and white, this queen room located in the west wing of the building is tranquil and sunny, with a truly romantic feel. Serene gold-framed flower pictures above the bed and a cream-colored love seat add a quiet beauty to the room.

As you enter, a private bath with a cultured marble shower is to the left. To the right is a chest of drawers. Straight ahead is the queen bed; further in to left are the whirlpool tub for two and a love seat. While it is our smallest room and the only room with a queen-size bed, the high ceilings and vineyard view give an air of spaciousness.

Gallatin Room

Rates: $185 - $260

The Gallatin Room with a private entry facing the front of the building is named after the Swiss-American, Albert Gallatin, who was Jefferson’s Secretary of the Treasury.

Decorated with a Swiss theme, this room offers warm cream walls, a king-size bed and sitting room nook with private bath. The private entry leads to the sitting room with the bathroom and cultured marble shower to the left. Just ahead of the sitting area is the spacious sleeping area with a king-size bed. This room is adjacent to our sunroom where you will enjoy a private seating area for breakfast, just outside of the main dining room.

Lafayette Room

Rates: $215 - $290

The Lafayette Room is Arcady’s original and first guest room, named after Jefferson’s friend the Marquis de Lafayette. Newly redecorated in 2021, this private entry end room features a soothing blue color palette accented with subtle silvers and golds. A full-size sofa with chaise and occasional chairs at the foot of the king-size bed provide ample seating for in room relaxation. This room is popular for romantic getaways, anniversaries and honeymoon couples and also features a vineyard view from the large picture window to the left of the king-size sleigh bed.

The ground-floor private entry crosses the room’s private furnished deck which overlooks the side property’s large crepe myrtles. Inside beyond the electric fireplace and sleeping area is a spa nook with a whirlpool tub for two and the room’s large L-shaped sofa. Beyond this is a private bath with a cultured marble shower.

Our Policies

To provide our guests with relaxing getaway accommodations in Charlottesville, VA, Arcady Vineyard Bed and Breakfast has as few policies as possible:

  • Each of our guest rooms accommodate a maximum of 2 people (1 bed per room). Additionally, we do not have breakfast seating for more than 2 guests per room. The B&B and property are for the use of registered guests only unless prior arrangements have been made and approved.
  • Our liquor license requires all guests be age 21 or over.
  • Although we love them, we do not provide accommodations for pets.
  • As we live in the B&B, this is not a “party” house. If you don’t keep us up late, we won’t wake you up early!

COVID-19 Update: We are fully OPEN and OPERATIONAL and look forward to welcoming you to our 14-acre retreat!

PLEASE NOTE: No one with a fever, cough, shortness of breath or other apparent symptoms of COVID-19 or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in the prior 14 days is permitted in our Bed and Breakfast. Additionally, we reserve the right to refuse entrance to those who display symptoms of illness upon arrival.

Check in is between 4-7 pm.  We generally cannot provide an earlier check in during our peak seasons of Spring, Summer and Fall, but you are encouraged to call before check in day to inquire. Guaranteed early check in (1:00) is available for a non-refundable fee of $40. Late check ins must be arranged in advance by a phone call to the B&B.

Check out is 11 am.

Please note: we are a COMPLETELY NON-SMOKING/NO VAPING PROPERTY to protect our health and satisfy our insurance policy. This means no smoking or vaping inside or anywhere outside on the property. Smoking/vaping in guest or common rooms will result in a $300 cleaning charge per room to be paid by the guest.

Per our insurance policy, no open flames in guest or common rooms, i.e. candles and incense.

Cancellation policy:

Reservations cancelled 10 days out from check-in day will incur a $25 processing fee (per each room reserved).

The entire reservation will be charged if cancellation is less than 10 days from check-in date, unless the room can be rebooked, in which case a $25 processing fee (per room) will be charged.  In the case of a proven emergency, we will apply your deposit to a future visit.

Early departures and no-shows are responsible for the cost of their entire reservation. Any reservation that is moved inside the cancellation policy time frame must be paid in full at the time of move with a new no cancel/no refund policy for the new reservation date. Cancellations should be made by phone, as email can be unreliable.

If you have COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID, please call us to cancel and or reschedule your visit. A doctor’s note is required if this occurs less than 10 days before your check-in day.
